European Innovation Week in Taiwan - Strengthening business links between the EU and Taiwan

This European Innovation Week is being organised on the occasion of the Industrial dialogue between the European Commission and Taiwan. It will see a delegation of over 100 European companies and 24 clusters from 15 EU countries, led by Deputy Director-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Antti Peltomäki.

The event is taking place in conjunction with the top information and communication technology (ICT) fair, COMPUTEX.

The European Innovation Week will feature a series of seminars on smart health, smart mobility, smart industry, 5G, nano-electronics and Horizon 2020 (the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation).

Business-to-business (B2B), clusters-to-clusters (C2C) and business-to-clusters (B2C) matchmaking meetings organised by our Enterprise Europe Network partner in Taiwan, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will bring Taiwanese and European companies, clusters and institutes together to facilitate business and research cooperation.

As many as 24 EU cluster representatives from 12 European countries active in the fields of electronics, nanoelectronics, software applications in areas such as space applications, mobility, smart cities, advanced manufacturing systems and e-health are travelling to participate at the cluster matchmaking. They will be meeting with some 20 Taiwan cluster representatives to seek opportunities to set up industrial, trade and investment cooperation.

The European Innovation Week is a joint initiative of the Commission in collaboration with Silicon Europe Worldwide, GNSS.asia, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and the Department of Industrial Technology (DOIT) of Taiwan, the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) coordinated by TAITRA, the European Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan (ECCT), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform.
