The European Commission, with the assistance of a consortium formed by the Centre for Strategy & Evaluation Services (UK), NECSTouR (the Network of European regions for a Sustainable and Competitive Tourism) and Fondazione Campus (IT), is mapping the provision of vocational education and training in the tourism sector and assessing its performance.

28 national experts have undertaken research in each EU country, highlighting good practices and identifying gaps.

The objective is to have a clear overview of the gap in the provision of skill sets and learning outcomes which are needed today to boost the competitiveness of the European tourism sector, and maintain Europe's position as the number one tourism destination in the world.

The results of this extensive investigation were presented at the Final Conference in Brussels on 21 October 2015. The event was also an opportunity to discover best practices and discuss recommendations for actions.

The results of the study will be published soon.
