Shaping the Future of ICT through Circular and Fair Procurement

Are you wondering what sustainable procurement in the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector looks like? Join the Community of the Circular and Fair ICT Pact on the Public Buyers Community platform.

The Circular & Fair ICT Pact (CFIT) is an international partnership dedicated to advancing circularity, fairness, and sustainability within the ICT sector through the power of procurement. Signatories of the CFIT Pact become part of a network where ICT procurers join forces with organisations promoting sustainable procurement of ICT in their country or region. Both public and private procuring organisations can participate in CFIT, as their demand plays a crucial role in shaping the partnership’s mission. By facilitating collaboration, fostering knowledge sharing, and providing guidance and resources, CFIT empowers procurers to make significant strides in sustainable procurement.

Through the open CFIT Community on the Public Buyers Community platform, we seek input from individuals and organisations who have not (yet) joined CFIT, however would like to get involved and exchange insights on the topic. It is also a place where you can ask your questions about circular and fair ICT procurement.

To join CFIT’s open community, simply subscribe to the Public Buyers Community platform and visit our dedicated space. We believe that by working together and exchanging expertise, we can collectively drive change and innovation in the ICT sector. Joining this dynamic community allows you to actively contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable procurement practices. The community’s agenda also includes the public events and webinars organised by CFIT.

Examples of what is on the agenda for CFIT participants in the coming months include:

  • Setting up a community of practice that is focused on the challenging topic of incorporating due diligence and transparency in ICT procurement and more particularly in contract management (ethical ICT procurement).
  • Organising a webinar on software, discussing sustainability aspects and considerations for procuring organisations that have an interest in reducing the impact of software.
  • Deep dives on specific elements of the CFIT framework for Circular and Fair ICT Procurement; identifying good practices as well as challenges resulting in useful guidance for procuring organisations.
