This conference brought together authorities, businesses and consumer associations to discuss the future of market surveillance.

date:  04/11/2020 - 05/11/2020

venue:  Berlin, Germany

The new Regulation on market surveillance (EU) 2019/1020 will start to apply in 2021. It will modernise market surveillance in the EU, and ensure better consumer protection and fairer competition between businesses.

This conference, under the German Council Presidency, was jointly organised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and the European Commission. It discussed how market surveillance would become more digital, cooperative and resilient.

Simultaneous interpretation was provided in English and German.
