Based on robust and credible data, the Raw Materials Scoreboard highlights the importance of raw materials and their increasingly importance for the competitiveness of Europe’s industry, for innovation and for the transition to a low-carbon, more circular economy. It gathers key indicators and provides an overview of the current and future challenges faced by the raw materials sector, but also its achievements. It is very much a critical contribution to increasing the knowledge base and to monitor the success of EU raw materials policy.

The Raw Materials Scoreboard is the result of a combined effort between DG GROW and DG JRC but it was also developed thanks to the support of the Sherpas of the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials, contributions of a number of external experts and contributions from colleagues from different services of the Commission.
