Call for applications

As the mandate of the group selected in 2013 comes to an end, DG GROW is calling for applications in view of selecting new members for both the EIP's High-Level Steering Group and its Operational Groups.

All organisations that are registered in the Transparency Register are welcome to apply, using the templates on the EIP website by 31 January 2017. EU Member States and targeted public entities have received an invitation letter.

The EIP covers the raw materials that are the lifeblood of the EU economy

The EIP covers non-energy, non-agricultural raw materials, i.e. metals, minerals, and biotic materials both from primary extraction from recycling. Its mission is to provide high-level guidance to the European Commission, Members States and private actors on innovative approaches to the challenges related to raw materials. This includes topics such as technology development, research and innovation, framework conditions for mining and waste management, knowledge and skills and international cooperation.

In July 2016 the EIP's High-Level Steering Group confirmed that the EIP should continue to play an active role in shaping the EU's future raw materials policy framework

In the Strategic Evaluation Report the High-Level Steering Group stated that the EIP should continue to involve all relevant stakeholders and play its role in outlining actions that need to be taken by the EIP to support raw materials policy.  It should also continue to make proposals on how to better take into account current economic, political and geopolitical evolutions that affect the raw materials sector.

The High-Level Steering Group also recommended that the Operational Groups carry out a detailed mapping on the implementation of the individual actions included in the EIP's Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) as well as an assessment of whether there are any new areas of interest that are not covered in the SIP.
