The study supports the European Commission's fitness check on chemicals legislation (excluding REACH), which assesses the relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency and added value of the legislative framework for the risk management of chemicals. It will also identify excessive administrative burdens, overlaps, gaps, inconsistencies and/or obsolete measures. This will promote better legislation, making it more responsive to current and future challenges and help improve implementation.

The purpose of the workshop is to present preliminary results from the interim report of the study, to identify potential gaps and opportunities for further assessment and to collect ideas and information from stakeholders.

The workshop will be organised in a 'World Café' format with various break-out sessions, allowing stakeholders to discuss specific issues in more detail.
