President Barroso visits the European GNSS Agency (GSA) in Prague

On Wednesday 3 April, the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso visited the headquarters of the European Global Navigation and Satellite System (GNSS) Agency (GSA) in Prague.

During his visit, Mr Barroso emphasized amongst other things the importance of the Space sector and of the Galileo programme for the European citizens and Enterprises.


- The European GNSS Agency (GSA) manages public interests related to European GNSS programmes. The Agency's strategic objectives include the achievement of a fully operational GALILEO system, creating the world's leading satellite navigation system for civilian applications;

- GNSS is the acronym for 'Global Navigation Satellite System';

- Galileo is the name of the European Satellite Navigation programme.
