An updated version (v4.5) of the SRI calculation sheet and its practical guide have been released.
On 22 March 2023, the SRI platform held its third plenary stakeholders' meeting.
There are nine technical domains addressed by the SRI. To get a deeper understanding of how the SRI works for each of these domains, we invite you to give a look at the 'SRI-explained' factsheets.
The SRI support team is working on the compilation of case studies of SRI assessments on example buildings. Each case study presents the outcomes of the SRI assessments, an overview of the aspects positively impacting the evaluation, as well as improvement potential suggestions.
With more EU Member States beginning SRI test phases the European Commission is looking for members of the SRI community (i.e. you, the dear readers of this newsletter, as well as any other interested parties) to help them to provide support to Member States to implement the SRI.
The SRI platform is an exchange forum involving building professionals interested in the SRI, and more generally in smart and efficient buildings. This meeting is an opportunity to hear the latest updates from the front running Member States who are currently implementing an official test phase of the SRI.
We have a lot to share with you in this edition:
The European Commission supports a harmonised implementation of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) across the Member States (MS) who voluntarily opt to implement it. This document, is an output of the activities of the SRI support team, and aims to provide provisional guidance on the implementation of the SRI during the period when Member States may opt to conduct test phases. At a future date the European Commission may prepare formal guidance on the implementation of the SRI informed by the experience accrued during the national test phases. The current version presents guidance that draws upon the knowledge of the SRI technical support team and some experience already relayed through provisional MS testing.
SRI is a common EU scheme for rating the smart readiness of buildings across nine technical domains.
Several initiatives are currently being implemented to develop digital tools to support the implementation of SRI assessments, and provide complementary SRI-related services to improve the smartness of buildings.
The recording of our latest training webinar, designed specifically for projects supported under the HORIZON and LIFE programmes, is now available to watch online.
As more EU Member States begin SRI test phases the European Commission is looking to provide support to help Member States with their implementation of the SRI. As part of this process the SRI support team is seeking input from the SRI community about the most useful assistance that could be provided to Member States.
The day after the SRI 3rd Plenary Meeting, the conference “Smart Buildings in Europe” is organised by the SmartBuilt4EU H2020 project and the European Commission.
The SRI platform is an exchange forum involving building professionals interested in the SRI, and more generally in smart and efficient buildings. Its plenary meetings contribute to the promotion of the SRI and related best practices, by bringing together all interested stakeholders and EU countries to discuss technical, regulatory and implementation aspects of the SRI. This 3rd plenary meeting aims to provide an update about the SRI on EU policy and an overview of key activities conducted by the SRI support team. Each of the three SRI working groups will update participants on their work and achievements, and representatives of the new LIFE projects will report on their progress to date. Final results from surveys conducted on the SRI assessment package and on the needs of EU countries will also be shared with the audience.
