The fourth EQAVET Peer Review in Luxembourg examines the potential of IT

From 12 to 14 October, the Luxembourg Ministry of Education, Children and Youth organised the fourth EQAVET Peer Review with EQAVET network members from Belgium, Croatia, Finland and the Netherlands. The event focused on the development and design of an IT-based system that can bring together existing administrative data in VET. Quality assurance in VET: Recent initiatives at national level

The autumn was particularly successful for the EQAVET National Reference Points (NRPs), with many interesting events taking place across Europe. Activities include the first review of education and training councils carried out in Ireland, the convening of the French annual conference on quality assurance, as well as efforts in Slovakia to promote the participation of national stakeholders in the peer learning process on quality assurance. In addition, Romania is working with the digital platform AGRIEdu to improve its agricultural education offer, and the Czech human resources community organised events to encourage cooperation between VET schools and businesses. As regards meetings, Türkiye has finalised the meeting on the Sustainability of Quality Practices and EQAVET and is in the process of organising training sessions on self-assessment. Finally, Malta published the winning work of its second Digital Art Competition among secondary schools and the Netherlands published a digital game aimed at improving quality in educational teams.

 
European Learning Alliance launches EAfA Podcast, a series for people interested in apprenticeships and vocational training

During four 30-minute episodes, the auditors can learn more about EAfA and hear Nicolas Schmit (European Commissioner for Employment and Social Rights), who explains the implications of the European Year of Youth and the benefits of learning. Episodes also explore opportunities to improve the image of apprenticeships and consider the role of social partners. New cases of studies on Italy and the Grece

Two new ‘case studies’ were published in the virtual library. Germany organised the sixth Peer Review

The Peer Review focused on quality assurance of initial vocational education and training pathways, the IEFP (Istruzione Professional), the first national VET pathway for young people in training from the age of 14. The event was organised by the INAPP (National Institute for Public Policy Analysis) on 26 and 27 October 2022. EQAVET members from Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary and Spain participated. A Peer Learning Activity activity brings together 60 representatives of the EQAVET network to discuss quality assurance of micro-credentials

An online Peer Learning activity brought together more than 60 representatives from EQAVET and neighbouring countries to discuss quality assurance of micro-credentials on 8 and 9 November. The event was organised online by Ireland. Participants were briefed on the recent Council Recommendation on micro-credentials, on a Cedefop project on micro-credentials for VET and the labour market, and on how Ireland uses micro-credentials. Examples were also shared by Estonia, Spain and Sweden. The Third Peer Review in Latvia assesses the quality and effectiveness of VET

On 21 and 22 September, the third Peer Review was organised by the State Education Quality Service in Riga, Latvia. The event brought together EQAVET members from Belgium (Wallonia), Bulgaria, Lithuania and Luxembourg. During the Peer Review, comments were made on the quality system and the capacity to carry out an external evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed system using current performance indicators and criteria. Feedback session on the German Peer Review

On 14 to 15 November, the sixth Peer Review was hosted by Germany. The event looked at examples of distance learning, nationally valid further training regulations and quality requirements in Germany.
