The “Planning for the future of Europe’s Marine Space – MSP Stakeholder Conference” organised by the MSP Assistance Mechanism on behalf of EC DG MARE and CINEA will take place in Brest, France on the 14th and 15th of June 2022. The aim of the conference is to review the progress and achievements in relation to MSP since the adoption of the MSP Directive in 2014 and to discuss the future of MSP and the challenges still to be addressed. Participants are invited to attend in person, however there will also be an opportunity to observe online if preferred. The Conference will be recorded for those unable to attend on the day. The Norwegian town of Lillestrøm is working closely with the CINEA project REACHOUT to implement the municipality’s climate strategy. The municipality is mostly exposed to natural hazards from floods and landslides, especially quick clay slides. The tools from REACHOUT can be useful to make information about climate risk and climate adaptation accessible to their citizens and other stakeholders, and to help implement climate adaptation more directly into planning and regulation processes.

The LIFE-ENPE project built a self-sustaining network of environmental prosecutors (the European Network of Prosecutors for the Environment), improved the sharing of information on environmental crime, and enhanced capacity and consistency for combating transnational waste, wildlife and air pollution crimes.
The objective of the new AWARE EU-SAPMI EMFAF project is to build bridges and awareness between the Sámi people and EU institutions. In line with the 2022 European Year of Youth, the project will host an Idea Lab to raise awareness among Sámi Youth about EU policies and give youth the chance to engage and participate in finding solutions to making their voices heard in the EU. The A2 procurement team has prepared 2 training sessions on open call for tenders - don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn about the procedure and register in EU Learn. Meanwhile, the newly created ‘Procurement Correspondents Network’ met for the first time this week. The correspondents’ role is to relay important information or report issues related to procurement.
Taking place from 26 to 30 September 2022, the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will gather renewable energy stakeholders, to present activities and project results at a hybrid stand (Energy Fair), and to deliver onsite short presentations on innovative initiatives and ideas (Energy Talks). Applications for both calls are possible until 2 June.
The Commission has announced the 100 EU cities selected under the EU Mission Cities for climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030. These cities are from all 27 Member States, with 12 additional cities located in countries associated or with the potential of being associated to Horizon Europe. The EU Mission Cities will be presented at the EU Missions Info Days on 17-18 May
CEF Energy projects in Bulgaria and Poland are extremely important to ensure gas supply security and the ability to cope with the interruption of gas imports in these countries, which are heavily reliant on Russian gas imports. Nearly EUR 773 million of CEF Energy funding have been invested in gas infrastructure projects in these two countries.
