Commission adopts first list of renewable energy cross-border projects

The Commission has established the first list of renewable energy cross-border (CB RES) projects under CEF. The realisation of these projects will make an important contribution to the increased renewable energy ambition under the European Green Deal, and the objectives of REPowerEU.

 
Poland-Slovakia gas interconnector inaugurated in August

The pipeline connects the gas networks of the two countries, ensuring affordable supplies and diversifying supply routes. With a total length of approximately 165 km, the interconnector was a Project of Common Interest over the period 2013-2021 and has received more than EUR 100 million of EU funding through CEF.

Italy: New system of indicators to monitor MSP implementation and performance

IUAV, CNR and CORILA, in support of the Italian MSP strategy, designed a monitoring program for the tracking and evaluation of MSP implementation. German Maritime Spatial Plan on EMODnet Human Activity Portal

The EMODnet Human Activity Portal now hosts a new MSP data set for all to see. There are now 6 countries displayed on this multi-layer interactive map including the zoning, human activities and sites composing the MSP landscape in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia and Poland.

 
France's first offshore windfarm up and running

After a decade in the making, France recently inaugurated its first offshore wind farm on its Atlantic shores. The Saint Nazaire offshore wind farm is expected to provide 20% of electricity demand of the 1.4M inhabitants of Département Loire-Atlantique.

 
Use of parking W910

For security reasons, remember not to leave your car in the parking at W910 outside working hours - the parking spots are available for staff from 07:00 to 19:30 only. The only exception is if you are going on mission - in that case don't forget to leave your mission authorisation on the windscreen of your car.

LIFE Programme information session for Ukraine

With the recent association of Ukraine to the LIFE Programme, Ukrainian applicants are now eligible to apply to the 2022 LIFE calls. An online information session for them was held on 28 July with 181 participants.

 
Innovation Fund country fiches available

The current 37 large and small-scale projects of the Innovation Fund managed by CINEA are implemented in 15 European countries and will contribute to the decarbonisation of European industries. Check the new country fiches to find out the total expected GHG emission reduction per country.
