Romania takes over the role of CMA Coordinator for 2023

Romania has accepted the role of Coordinator to lead the implementation of the Common Maritime Agenda for the Black Sea (CMA) in 2023. Building on the success of previous actions, Romania will now set its implementation plan, coordinate and organise regional events and activities. The focus of the Romanian CMA Coordinator for 2023 is environmental protection, blue economy entrepreneurship and blue skills.

Road transport research results on display at #RTR2023

Over 350 delegates took part in the flagship event for Road Transport Research results (RTR) in Brussels from 14 to16 February. Attendees heard first-hand from over 60 Horizon 2020 projects about their most promising results and innovative solutions developed.

This ensures the uptake and wider use of new technologies and inventions, guaranteeing interoperability and compatibility, providing quality and safety levels, and codifying knowledge in clear and specific ways.

Annual Internal Control Assessment - results are out

Every year, our Internal Control Manager (Damiao Chaves) checks if our system of controls is still fit for purpose. Tests are performed on a myriad of aspects including ethics, business continuity, staff engagement, communication… The latest results confirm that CINEA’s system of controls is present and works well. Only a few minor improvements are needed.

 
Algaenauts project on Euronews

The EMFF-funded Algaenauts project to produce biopesticides from microalgae featured in the latest episode of the Euronews Ocean series. These documentaries have Europe-wide coverage and are often picked up by national broadcasters. Don’t miss it!

#LIFEis30: campaign results

The campaign to celebrate the LIFE programme’s 30th anniversary ended in December 2022. Almost 400 actions were shared on the website by the LIFE projects, with events and activities in 33 different countries - including 26 EU Member States - and an estimated 82 000 people taking part.

 
Sustainable Energy Days: the call is open

Events taking place around the world promoting clean energy and energy efficiency, may apply from March to June 2023 to be part of the Sustainable Energy Days. Past events took place in locations such as schools, parks, town halls, factories... In the context of the European Year of Skills, events upskilling European citizens for a clean energy transition are particularly encouraged.

 
Qlik dashboards now available to all CINEA staff

For those who are not yet familiar with the basic functionalities of the Qlik tool, a 30-minute training will take place on Tuesday, 28 February at 14:00. For more information on the dashboards, check out the reporting section on CINEAnet, and especially the Qliksense catalogue.

Commission en direct had a chat with Thomas Kellermann (Unit A1) and Kristina Lesinska (Director's Office) to find out more about the CINEA public dashboard and the work behind it. The dashboard is an intuitive and interactive platform that allows users to discover EU funded projects managed/implemented by CINEA.
