On 15 April 2025, teams from 26 Member States attended the #14 OOTS Implementers Café. This informal webinar series regularly brings together teams working on the Once-Only Technical System(opens in a new tab) to discuss topics related to its implementation.
The Once-Only Technical System simplifies the Single Market by creating a seamless cross-border experience for citizens and businesses. It removes the burden of manually searching for, identifying, and submitting official data to complete administrative procedures. Instead, individuals and businesses can simply give their explicit request for the secure exchange of data between public authorities via an existing public service website (no new website or app required).
This Implementers Café brought together over 120 participants to debrief the event “Europe goes Once-Only – Lithuania edition(opens in a new tab)” and prepare for the upcoming “#6 OOTS Projectathon(opens in a new tab)”.
“Europe goes Once-Only – Lithuania edition” (3-4 April, Vilnius, Lithuania) was the second local Once-Only event. This event series commenced in 2024 and aims to facilitate the onboarding of national competent authorities by organising events directly in the Member States. The event in Vilnius(opens in a new tab) brought together over 200 professionals from 22 Member States, with more than 80 representing competent authorities. The majority of participants were from Nordic/Baltic countries, making this event a real driver for implementing Once-Only in the region. Building on this success, the “Europe goes Once-Only” series will continue(opens in a new tab) in Portugal (September 2025) and Croatia (November 2025).
During the #14 OOTS Implementers Café, representatives from the Lithuanian and Commission organising teams debriefed the events’ main outcomes and explained how they will feed into future work.
The next milestone to work towards will be the “#6 OOTS Projectathon(opens in a new tab)” (11-12 June 2025, Brussels and online). This large-scale testing event will support national implementation teams in preparing or conducting live transactions. Building on the 2024 editions, this Projectathon will again welcome representatives from competent authorities to support their onboarding. As this Projectathon will be a thematic event focusing on population, education and business data, it will also be particularly useful to competent authorities from these domains, as well as authorities interested in testing and/or close to going live.
Registrations to this Projectathon are open(opens in a new tab) until 6 May 2025.
