The European Registry for Energy Labeling (EPREL) is now in the testing phase

On the 30 November, the European Registry for Energy Labeling (EPREL) is one-step closer to the planned go-live on 1 January 2019. EPREL is now in the acceptance test environment, to verify whether the platform meets the user expectations.

The EPREL database is required by the energy labeling framework Regulation 2017/1369/EU, which states that the database should be implemented by 1 January 2019.

This regulation obliges suppliers (defined as ‘a manufacturer established in the Union, the authorised representative of a manufacturer who is not established in the Union, or an importer') who places a product on the Union market, from that day onwards, to upload a selection of data and documentation into EPREL for products that are subject to energy labelling obligations.

EPREL is a protected database.  CEF eDelivery enabled the exchange of data securely between the industry manufacturers, importers and authorized representatives and the European Commission. CEF eDelivery helps public administrations to exchange electronic data and documents with other public administrations, businesses and citizens, in an interoperable, secure, reliable and trusted way.
