This Projectathon(opens in a new tab) focused on vehicle registers, business-related procedures, population and education data, and on linking the Once-Only Technical System with the related systems EUCARIS (vehicles) and EMREX (education).

It was the second to welcome national Competent Authorities. As authentic data are exchanged through the Once-Only Technical System (such as permits or diplomas), the Competent Authorities are those organisations that either request or provide this data.

In total, the participants executed 490 peer-to-peer tests (tests shared between two Member States), including higher quality transactions than previous Projectathons. In addition to testing, the participants joined 15 workshops and information sessions, each addressing important subjects related to the implementation of the Once-Only Technical System.

The adoption of Once-Only means the creation of "search-free" administrative procedures, where data comes to individuals and businesses automatically without the need to search for it online. By eliminating the need for searching, Once-Only lays the foundation for shifting from document-centric to data-centric processes, driven by strong collaboration and shared expertise between EU countries.

The close collaboration between the Member States and the Commission will continue in 2025, with new testing and ‘Europe goes Once-Only’ events already in the making.
