The 18th EQAVET Peer Review took place on May 4-5 2023, in Athens and was hosted by the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP). Six peers from Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Luxembourg, and Slovenia attended.

The main focus of the Peer Review was the introduction of a new Quality Assurance Methodology (QAM) in three study programmes on the Hellenic Qualifications Framework (HQF) level 5 combined. This Framework is directly aligned with the eight levels of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). This was accomplished through a piloting initiative with two IVET providers, namely the Thematic IVET Institute of Aegaleo and the Experimental IVET Institute of Glyfada. The piloting includes an Implementation Manual.

During the event, the pilot initiative was presented with regards to its impact on the overall policy agenda. In a panel discussion, social partners highlighted their shared ambition of aligning IVET provision closer to the needs of the labour market. The participating IVET providers shared their experiences of implementing the QAM and discussed its initial effects.

As the Greek hosts will submit the QAM for nationwide implementation in Greek IVET institutes, they sought feedback from the peers on the pilot initiative. The peers explored the developed methodology and discussed potential revisions that could enhance the QAM, making it suitable for a larger-scale rollout.

Read the flash report summarising the main outcomes of the discussion.

Another report with detailed feedback from the peer reviewers will be shared with the host country.
