The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:The Ordem dos Engenheiros - North region (Portuguese Association of Engineers) launched a new Engineering discovery initiative that aims to stimulate and (re-)discover in teenagers the stimulus and practical sense for engineering. It involves a 'hands-on,' playful-pedagogical activity based on a STEAM learning tool. Through this new creative tool, critical thinking, data analysis, and developing prototypes are offered as practices to solve complex problems relevant to the real world. These carefully crafted experiences provided by the Association aim to showcase all engineering specialties, illustrating their impact on society and daily life. The initiative allows for the study of mathematics, physics, informatics, electronics, and robotics, along with the development of social and organisational skills. Engineering is not only learned but also created through play. Additionally, the Ordem dos Engenheiros offers a diverse and highly specialised online platform for training, covering different themes and areas of Engineering.
