Description of the Organisation:
The New Design University St. Pölten (NDU) was founded by the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce and its Business Development Institute in 2004. As an international destination for quality education in the fields of design, technology and business, NDU trains creative thinkers who explore tomorrow's work and design practice today. The Bachelor programme "Manual & Material culture" targets people with an apprenticeship certificate in manual trades. Within the programme, people can learn professional product design and combine practical and creative skills in an innovative, forward-looking way with a business-oriented outlook. Besides the Bachelor programme, several research projects on issues such as professional identities and socialization of crafts(wo)men, the enhancement of the visibility, value and quality of dual education as well as its permeability to higher education and others are done.
