Green for Households: investment in renewable energy for houses and apartments in Slovakia

The EU-funded Green for Households project enables people living in single-family homes and apartment buildings across Slovakia to apply for vouchers to cover up to 50 % of the installation costs of small devices that generate heat and electricity from renewable sources. Photovoltaic panels with a maximum output of 10 kilowatts for production of electricity and solar collectors, biomass boilers and heat pumps that meet the heating needs of a single building can be purchased using the vouchers.

An EU-funded project is improving and extending water and wastewater infrastructure in urban areas of – and rural areas around Agnita, Dumbrăveni and Mediaș, in Sibiu County, Romania. The upgrades will enhance the quality and safety of water services and wastewater collection and treatment, helping to bring them into line with EU and national legislation and reduce water losses.

Raising living standards with sustainable urban transport in Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania

Sfântu Gheorghe, in the Centru region of Romania, is implementing a strategy to reduce road traffic and greenhouse gas emissions under an EU-funded project. Based on the city’s sustainable urban mobility plan, the strategy is composed of a series of integrated and complementary actions. They encourage walking and cycling and improve public transport infrastructure and equipment to develop a modern and efficient network, which people will want to use. This should lead to a shift from private cars to more sustainable means of transport.
