The Industrial Modernisation platform supports regions with shared ambitions in their smart specialisation strategies aiming to modernise their industry base through and in collaboration with other regions.
The core activities of the industrial modernisation platform are executed in thematic smart specialisation partnerships (TSSPs) where regions initiate and explore new value chains with the aim of modernising the underlying industry by developing interregional investment projects, interregional collaboration projects and / or working to align smart specialisation strategies in a shared domain. Industrial modernisation is a far reaching platform with implications from social economy to classical manufacturing, space and beyond.
The TSSPs within the platform target co-investment with high potential business, societal and ecological return at regional and European level, leveraged through combining smart specialisation investments across committed regions, cluster, businesses, and innovation actors as well as civil society.
