The Festival that will take place on 20 and 21 October 2022 on three locations (Brussels, Ispra, online) is an open event that brings together people of diverse backgrounds who are interested in, and work on, engagement of citizens in science, policymaking and deliberative democracy, in Europe and beyond.

During the upcoming winter, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (NEB partner) organises a developmental training process on Participatory Research Partnership (PRP). PRP refers to the partnership-based participation of researchers, experts by experience, professionals, students, teachers and other stakeholders in collaborative activities at different phases of the research, development and innovation (RDI) process. In a nutshell: RDI activities are carried out with or by stakeholders — not to them, about them or for them.
On Tuesday, the 13th of September, almost thirty New European Bauhaus higher education partners gathered to discuss the role of higher education with the initiative. The info session organised by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences first introduced a framework for NEB Stewardship currently under development and co-ideated its further steps via proposing a dedicated NEB Lab project.

An important part of the New European Bauhaus is its high-level round table, composed of advanced thinkers and practitioners bringing inspiration and acting as ambassadors. Three new members will bring fresh perspectives and insights into the movement and reinforce the global and cultural dimensions of the New European Bauhaus.
Following a plenary vote on 14 September, the Commission welcomed the European Parliament’s strong support for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) as it celebrated two years of existence. The Parliament’s report notably called for stronger financing of the initiative.
Last Friday we resumed our regular biweekly online meetings. We kicked off the autumn online sessions by providing an overview of the state of play and plans until the end of the year for ongoing projects and initiatives under the umbrella of the New European Bauhaus Lab and wider.

With a budget of around EUR 450 million for the period 2021-2027, the European Urban Initiative aims to foster innovative solutions to challenges faced by cities and to help cities tackle these challenges by building administrative capacities and increasing knowledge sharing between cities.
