Adoption of new rules providing better protection for children involved in cross-border parental disputes & in intra-EU child abduction (22/07/2019)
Thanks to the revision of the Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003 (Brussels IIa Regulation), through the adoption of the new Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1111, the EU has made it easier and faster for decisions on divorce, legal separation and marriage annulment, and on parental responsibility issues and international child abduction, to be applied across borders.
New rules and guarantees for children involved in criminal proceedings now apply across the EU (22/07/2019)
On 11 June 2019, the EU directive 2016/800, on special safeguards for children involved in criminal proceedings, as suspected or accused persons, started to apply. It is the last in a set of 6 EU directives guaranteeing procedural rights for people across the EU.

Open call for proposals for training national judges in EU competition law (23/01/2019)
The Commission has published a call for proposals for training national judges in EU competition law. The call is managed by DG COMP and addresses judges dealing with competition cases at national level. This also includes prosecutors, apprentice national judges and the staff of judges’ offices or national courts in countries that are eligible under the 2014 2020 Justice programme.
