Dear readers, we would like this newsletter to help share the stories of your projects. Find out how your project could increase its visibility!

We'd like to showcase another project, funded by the REC (Rights, Equality and Citizenship) programme, exemplifying best practice: FAIR (Fostering Access to Immigrant children’s Rights).

This Lithuanian project, started in 2017 and co-funded by the REC programme, received two major awards in 2018. We would like to take this opportunity to share the activities and main results of the project with you. Congratulations to the whole team!!

In this issue, we would like to encourage you to apply some tools from the behavioural sciences to your project, to change attitudes and behaviours.

As some of our beneficiaries already know, we are happy to announce that DG Justice has resumed its tradition to organise kick-off meetings/information sessions for projects selected under the REC (Rights, Equality and Citizenship) and Justice funding programmes.

Thanks to the revision of the Council Regulation (EC) No 2201/2003 (Brussels IIa Regulation), through the adoption of the new Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1111, the EU has made it easier and faster for decisions on divorce, legal separation and marriage annulment, and on parental responsibility issues and international child abduction, to be applied across borders.

On 11 June 2019, the EU directive 2016/800, on special safeguards for children involved in criminal proceedings, as suspected or accused persons, started to apply. It is the last in a set of 6 EU directives guaranteeing procedural rights for people across the EU.
