2016 Workshop on animal genomics: report now available

Animal breeding has played an important role in increasing the production efficiency of animals. Nonetheless, farmed animal production still faces a number of challenges. At the end of 2016 a workshop was held to examine the latest developments brought by EU funded projects on the theme to feed into the design of a roadmap for future research. The report is now available!

date:  10/10/2016 - 11/10/2016

On the 10th -11th October 2016 representatives of EU funded projects, EU stakeholders, some non-EU scientists and additional experts gathered in Brussels to participate to a DG AGRI workshop on Animal genomics.

The workshop was focussed on terrestrial farmed animals and was structured around 3 areas: animal breeding; genetic resources; and genotype to phenotype.

The outputs of the workshop fed into the drafting of the work-programme 2018-2020.
