The Research Executive Agency (REA) organised an Information Day about the topic FET Innovation LaunchPad launched in 2016 under the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Open call.

The Information Day took place in Brussels, on Wednesday, 20th April 2016.

The event targeted potential applicants for this topic.

The call offers funding to verify and substantiate the innovation potential of ideas arising from FET funded projects and to support the next steps in turning them into a genuine social or economic innovation.

The FET Innovation LaunchPad Call is opened since 01 March 2016. The first cut-off date is 29 September 2016 and there will be another cut-off date in on 27 September 2017.

The Information Day covered:

• presentation of the Horizon 2020 FET Innovation Launchpad scheme
• information on how to prepare and submit a FET Innovation Launchpad proposal, on the evaluation process and on relevant evaluation criteria
• overview of the ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) programme results and flash info of some PoC projects results
• support offered by the National Contact Points to FET Innovation Launchpad applicants
• validation of applicants in the Participant Portal

FET Innovation LaunchPad proposals must build on results from an ongoing or recently finished project, funded under FP7 or H2020 by any of the three complementary lines of action of Future and Emerging Technologies (FET Open, FET Proactive, FET Flagship).

For the proposals submitted before the first deadline on 29 September 2016, the related FET project is considered 'recently finished' if its end date was between 29 September 2015 and 28 September 2016. The related FET project is considered 'ongoing', if its contractual start date is before 29 September 2016 and its contractual end date is after 29 September 2016.
