Between 8 and 9 October, Turin will be the capital of the ‘Bioeconomy’.

During these two days, the Italian city hosts the third EU Bioeconomy Stakeholders Conference “From sectors to system, from concept to reality”.

It will be held at the Conference Centre Torino Incontra, Via Nino Costa 8-10123, Torino.

The conference will gather experts and a wide range of stakeholders from industry and academia, as well as end-users to discuss closing the industrial research-market gap and how to maximise the knowledge-based potential of Europe’s regions in the bioeconomy.

The opening session of the Conference on 8^th October will be addressed by Stefania Giannini, Italian Minister for Education, Universities and Research, and Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation.

Sessions cover a multitude of topics, from the societal challenges that the bioeconomy can help address to bio-based chemicals and energy, food and feed, the enabling conditions for the bioeconomy, how to measure progress and the bioeconomy as a building block for a green and circular economy – and for a European industrial renaissance.

The event is part of the initiatives promoted under the Italian rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU and will bring together key Bioeconomy stakeholders from across Europe, to discuss challenges and development opportunities in this sector.
