Results of the stakeholder consultation for the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 (Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials)

The stakeholder consultation for the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 (Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials) closed on 23 June 2014. A short analysis provides the findings.

date:  18/07/2014

We would like to thank all contributors for the well argued and detailed suggestions, which will be very useful in the 2016-17 strategic programming process for the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5.

We received 139 contributions from European and international stakeholders, including academic institutions and associations, industry representatives and associations, JPIs, ERA-NETs and other European networks, regional and local authorities, national agencies, a standardisation body, several FP7 projects, and a number of individual respondents.

Respondents welcomed the opportunity to contribute to this strategic programming consultation. Running through the diversity of the contributions there was a clear consensus about the need to implement systemic and interdisciplinary solution – oriented approaches, with participation and engagement of stakeholders (i.e. academia, industry, financing bodies, local authorities, final users, CSOs, citizens). Further details on the results of the consultation are available in the short analysis of the contributions.
