permalinkMain URL

date:  11/02/2014 - 12/02/2014

Over the last four years, Europe’s R&D efforts in the advanced biorefinery sector has been spearheaded by the FP7 projects BIOCORE, EUROBIOREF and SUPRABIO FP7, which between them, received €50m in European Commission financial support and mobilised 68 European public and private partners.

Together, the projects have focused attention on numerous aspects of biorefineries, including the development of breakthrough technologies, services and methods to assess the intrinsic performances of different concepts, and the use of sophisticated economic, environmental and social analysis tools and approaches. In early 2014, the three projects will come to an end. They have therefore decided to combine efforts in order to offer policymakers and industrial groups a one-off opportunity to gain an early and integrated insight into the outcomes and impacts of these projects.

The conference ‘Tomorrow’s Biorefineries in Europe’ will be organised as two back-to-back events:

  • Day 1Shaping policies for advanced biorefineries (11 February 2014) – Dedicated to policy factors influencing biorefinery commericialisation, this event targets policymakers, non-governmental agencies and related stakeholders.
  • Day 2 – Technologies for advanced biorefineries (12 February 2014) – Dedicated to the exploitation of results and a brokerage event, this event targets industrial players and stakeholders groups involved in the latter stages of technology development and transfer.

The two one-day conferences will be held at the same venue, making it easy for delegates to attend both events. For more information, please visit the conference website.
