Towards a 2030 vision on the future of universities in the field of R&I in Europe

In the context of the revitalised ERA Communication, this study sets out a stakeholder-driven, strategic Vision 2030 for the future of universities in Europe in research and innovation. Recognising Europe’s diverse university landscape, the study considers the extent to which – and how - universities’ ongoing transformations might best be supported through EU support (e.g. policy changes, funding, legal mechanisms).

 
FET Innovation LaunchPad Call closure 14/10/2020 - Apply to transform your project results into more concrete market opportunities

Count down has started for the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Innovation LaunchPad call closure on the 14th of October 2020!This call aims to to transform results from Pathfinder/FET funded projects into societal or economic innovations. A lump sum up to EUR 100.000 per project is available to support short actions focused on non-scientific aspects and on turning early stage Pathfinder results into a genuine innovation with socio-economic impacts.

 
Horizon Impact Award 2020: 10 finalists short-listed

The European Commission has announced the 10 projects to reach the final stage of the second edition of Horizon Impact Award – a prize dedicated to EU-funded projects whose results have created societal impact across Europe and beyond. The prize acknowledges and rewards the most influential and impactful project results under Horizon 2020, the EU research and innovation programme, and its predecessor, the 7th Framework programme (FP7, 2007-2013).

 
EU Prize for Women Innovators 2020: 21 entrepreneurs are through to the final

Twenty-one of the most talented and inspiring women entrepreneurs in Europe and beyond are in the shortlist for the EU Prize for Women Innovators 2020. The prize celebrates the outstanding achievements of female entrepreneurs running innovative companies and is funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation. This year’s finalists are pioneering game-changing innovations across a wide range of industries and help combat global challenges.

 
Celebrating new excellent research partnerships across Europe

Teaming projects under the Horizon 2020 Widening Programme aim at setting up and developing new 'centres of excellence' in low R&I performing Member States. At a signing ceremony on 24 September, Jean-Eric Paquet, Director- General for Research and Innovation congratulated the 14 Teaming projects winners on this outstanding initiative and their contribution to bridging the research and innovation divide in Europe.
