Commission launches fusion research Innovation Prize

The European Commission is launching today the second edition of the "SOFT Innovation Prize" for fusion research. Proposals can be submitted concerning any physics or technology innovations related to magnetic confinement fusion research with a potential for further exploitation.

This contest is open to researchers from countries participating in ITER  and any country which has a bilateral fusion cooperation agreement with the EURATOM framework programme. The deadline for submission  via the Participant Portal is 7 April 2016.

Three prizes will be awarded: €50.000 for the 1st prize, €25.000 for the 2nd and €12.500 for the 3rd. Prizes will be presented at the 29th SOFT International Conference in Prague in September 2016.
