This initiative aims to make the EU food system sustainable and to integrate sustainability into all food-related policies. It will lay down general principles and objectives, together with the requirements and responsibilities of all actors in the EU food system. More specifically, it will lay down rules on:

  • sustainability labelling of food products
  • minimum criteria for sustainable public procurement of food
  • governance and monitoring

The aim of this public consultation is to gather opinions and evidence from all relevant stakeholders on the key issues the initiative aims to address. It takes a high-level approach, focusing on overarching issues related to food system sustainability, so it is therefore aimed to attract a broad range of responses, from all stakeholder categories previously mentioned. The questionnaire is accessible in all official EU languages.

You have time until July 21st to submit your contribution.
