Public consultation on the evaluation of the Aerosol Dispensers Directive

The objective of the evaluation was to assess whether the Aerosol Dispensers Directive is meeting its objectives of guaranteeing free circulation of aerosol dispensers within the EU while ensuring a high degree of safety.

Information was collected through different techniques, such as

• interviews
• a targeted consultation of economic operators
• a public online consultation involving all stakeholders

This stakeholders' feedback was used to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence and EU added-value of the Directive.

The public consultation ran from 30 September 2016 until 15 January 2017 and is now closed. The total number of replies was 139, of which 80% came from consumers or consumer associations.

The consultation did not reveal any major issue with regard to the Aerosol Dispensers Directive and confirmed the results of the interviews and targeted consultation.
