SMEs are among a range of organisations that have taken part in previous funding rounds. This latest call opened on 15 May and project proposals must be sent to national authorities no later than 15 September 2009.

The national authorities will then send proposals to the Commission, which will check submissions against LIFE+ criteria before announcing which projects have been chosen for funding in July/August 2010.

Selected projects can expect to start work at the beginning of 2011.

The Commission will also run workshops for potential applicants in every EU Member State. The aim is to provide useful advice and guidance on what the Commission expects from project proposals.

The workshops will take place in May, June and July.
