The purpose of this service contract is to provide advice for the Commission services on technical issues, related to the elaborations aimed at the adoption of harmonised technical specifications, notably European Assessment Documents, under Construction Products Regulation (CPR) 305/2011/EU.

More specifically, the contractor shall analyse the different stages of these procedures, with a view to proactively pre-empting any future complexities caused by their final outcomes.

Background

The Construction Products Regulation has entered into full application and repealed its predecessor, the Construction Products Directive, from 1 July 2013 onwards. It comprises two types of harmonised technical specifications: harmonised European standards and European Assessment Documents (EADs). Both will relate to a wide and much diversified spectrum of construction products.
