Objective
Under the REACH regulation, chemical substances identified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) may be included in Annex XIV of the Regulation and become subject to authorisation. Such substances cannot be placed on the market or used after a given date, unless authorisation is granted for the specific use, or the use is exempted from authorisation. The European Commission takes the decision on inclusion of substances into Annex XIV (authorisation list) on the basis of recommendation from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
For the purpose of this decision making, this call for information was carried out by ECHA, on behalf of the Commission, with the objective of gaining stakeholder and public input on the possible economic, social, health and environmental impacts (costs and benefits) with regards to 6th recommendations of the European Chemicals Agency for inclusion SVHCs into the authorisation list.
Period of the call
The call for information was open from 1 September to 1 December 2014.
