The Call for Invitation to Tender regarding the Copernicus Space Component Data Access (CSC DA) Data Warehouse 2014-2020 (ref. :AO7921) has been published on the ESA EMITS website, ESA being entrusted for the management of the contract, after concurrent definition of the tendering document set with the EU Commission.

The procurement of Data Warehouse 2 is conducted under the EU – ESA Agreement “Implementation of the Space Component of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES)” and is envisaged to be implemented under the new ESA – EU COPERNICUS Agreement. ESA will through the COPERNICUS Space Component Data Access (CSC-DA) coordinate the access to space-based observation data in support of Operational COPERNICUS Services, EU Research Programmes Projects and use by other authorised Users: Institutions and Bodies of the EU, Public Authorities, International Organisations and NGOs, the Public (in general).

The ITT is open to economic entities which have their registered offices in a country which falls within any of the following categories:

  • EU Member States; and
  • States participating in the GMES Regulation; and
  • Participating States in the ESA GMES Space Component Programme.

The open invitation to tender is structured to receive, from each bidder, two separate, self-standing proposals covering two types of activities identified as PART A (Interface Activities) and PART B (Data Provision: Specific CORE datasets/ADDITIONAL Generic datasets).
