Mission for Growth to China

This joint mission of Vice-President Tajani and Commissioner Potocnik to China is centered on the theme of “green growth”.

Deadline:  19/07/2013

It has three main objectives:

  1. to promote sustainable and inclusive growth and business opportunities on both sides;
  2. to help our companies and in particular SMEs to operate in China;
  3. to promote EU-China business contacts and opportunities.

Business Delegation Focus and Selection Criteria

In view of the central theme of the mission (“green growth”) we particularly encourage the presence of companies operating in related sectors, such as:

  • air quality,
  • water treatment,
  • waste management,
  • resource and energy management
  • and environmentally friendly technologies.

Companies interested in joining the mission are invited to register by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page and filling up the application.

Filling up the application does not entail any obligation to participate on the side of the company.

Only companies and associations of the European Union can express interest.

If there is a higher than expected level of interest for this particular Mission, the Commission will apply the following criteria in selecting companies from amongst the expressions of interest:

  • The overall geographical and industrial balance of the business delegation
  • The level of representation of the company – preference for CEO’s/General Managers

The deadline for expression of interest has been extended to 16 June 2013. Companies that will be selected will receive an e-mail of confirmation from the functional mail box M4G of DG Enterprise and Industry: ENTR-M4G@ec.europa.eu by the 21st of June 2013.

Practical Arrangements

Plane and accommodation expenditures will need to be borne by the companies themselves. The Commission will arrange group bookings in hotels to facilitate reservations. Local transportation (by coach) will be offered by the Commission.

Visa's will need to be applied for by participants themselves. However, the Commission will provide you with an invitation letter from Chinese authorities to facilitate application.
