Consultation on Certification of Airport Screening Equipment

The European Commission is seeking to collect the views and opinions of all relevant aviation security stakeholders on the possibility of creating a harmonised certification procedure for airport screening equipment at the EU level.

Moreover, it will gather the respondents' views and opinions on the main advantages of defining harmonised standards and introducing legally binding conformity assessment of airport screening equipment in terms of safety increase as well as reduction of the testing and certification costs and of the fragmentation of the EU Internal Market.
