(13/G/ENT/CIP/11/B/N02S001) European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) - selection and awareness raising

The overall objective of this call is to draw attention to the value, diversity and shared characteristics of European tourist destinations and to promote destinations where the economic growth objective is pursued in such a way as to ensure the social, cultural and environmental sustainability of tourism.

Deadline:  01/07/2011

The measure will also help European citizens to become better acquainted with one another.

The specific objective of the present call for proposals is two-fold:

  • to support eligible National Administrations in charge of tourism, or other public bodies corresponding to the definition, in countries which have participated in at least one of the “European Destinations of Excellence” (EDEN) call for proposals in 2007-2011, for the purpose of promoting the EDEN destinations (winners and runners-up of the previous editions) and enhancing awareness of the EDEN rationale (Project type A).
  • to support eligible countries’ National Administrations in charge of tourism, or other public bodies corresponding to the definition, in countries which have not participated in the “European Destinations of Excellence” call for proposals in 2007-2011, for the purpose of the selection of one destination of excellence (Project type B).
