The Commission is considering banning the use of 49 substances used in cosmetic products by amending Council Directive 76/768/EEC of 27 July 1976 ('Cosmetics Directive'). These substances are proposed to be included in the 'List of substances which must not form part of the composition of cosmetic products' under Annex II of the Cosmetics Directive.
