What? ‘Maintenance and alignment’ package of restrictive measures against Russia adopted.

When? 22 July 2022

Why? The package of measures means that for the first time, the EU will require listed persons to disclose all their assets within the EU’s jurisdiction. This will help ensure that every asset is traced and frozen. The move comes in response to the increasing complexity of schemes designed to evade sanctions.
