‘DORA’
What? The European Commission welcomed the political agreement just reached between the European Parliament and the Council on the Commission's proposal for a Digital Operational Resilience Act of financial services (DORA).
When? 11 May 2022
Why? As the financial sector increasingly depends on software and digital processes, information communication technologies (ICT) risks are more and more relevant in finance. The agreement will mean that that European financial sector will be better protected against ICT risks, including cyber-attacks. DORA forms part of the Commission's Digital Finance Package, which was proposed in September 2020.
