Consumers to benefit from cheaper and safer electronic payments

The European Commission today adopted rules that will make electronic payments in shops and online safer. They will allow payment providers to offer convenient and cost-effective solutions to European consumers. The new rules implement the EU's second Payment Services Directive (PSD2), which modernises Europe's payment services. They allow consumers to use innovative services offered by Fintech companies, such as payment solutions and personal finance management tools.
