Discover the European Green Capital 2023 and European Green Leaf 2022 Winners

On 9 September the European Green Capital 2021 Lahti (Finland) hosted the European Green Capital 2023 and European Green Leaf 2022 Awards Ceremony.

On 9 September the European Green Capital 2021 Lahti (Finland) hosted the European Green Capital 2023 and European Green Leaf 2022 Awards Ceremony.

Ten finalist cities were present onsite and online at the Awards Ceremony. Lathi Symphony Orchestra opened the Ceremony together with the global premiere of their latest composition: “Ice”.

Among the remarkable invitees who took the floor during the Awards Ceremony we had the EU Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevičius who highlighted the crucial role of cities in championing the green transition objectives of the European Green Deal, Finland’s Prime Minister - Sanna Marin, Lahti’s Mayor – Pekka Timonen and the representatives from this year’s finalist cities.
