Public consultation on past, present & future of European R&I Framework Programmes: 2014-27

On 1 December, the Commission launched the largest public consultation ever held on the past, present and future of the EU's Horizon research and innovation programmes 2014-2027. It is open for 12 weeks and contributes to the final evaluation of Horizon 2020, the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe, and lays the groundwork for preparation of the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025-27. The survey is still open for a few more days and Zero Pollution Stakeholders are welcome to provided their feedback at the link:

 
Business for Nature policy consultation - Deadline extended until 26 November

Business for Nature invites businesses from all sectors, geographies, and of all sizes to respond to a policy consultation and share their views on: 1) Reducing negative direct impacts; 2) The role to be played by SMEs; 3) Addressing environmentally harmful subsidies; 4) Mechanisms to incentivize sustainable use and penalise negative impacts; and 5) Legislation on deforestation and conversion free supply chains.

 
Experts needed for scoping of the IPBES Business and Biodiversity assessment

The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) seeks experts to participate in the external review of the draft scoping report for the IPBES business and biodiversity assessment. Governments, interested and qualified experts, including scientists, decision makers, practitioners and other knowledge holders can participate in the external review of the draft scoping report for the business and biodiversity assessment. The external review will be open until 15 December 2021.

SMEs and Nature Survey – Open until 14 December

How do SMEs consider their relationship with #nature? What are the best practices that pioneering SMEs have developed to date? What type of support do SMEs require to further progress on this journey? Take part in this survey and help us gain understanding of how SMEs perceive nature loss and what they need from the EU community to make a shift.

 
Survey to inform common guidance on biodiversity measures for agricultural supply chains - Open until 15 November

Together, the TRADE Hub, the Aligning Biodiversity Measures for Business (ABMB) collaboration and the EU B@B Platform aim to form a common view on the metrics and indicators for monitoring and disclosure of biodiversity impacts and dependencies for companies with agricultural supply chains. To initiate this collaborative effort, we invite companies sourcing or producing agricultural products in the EU or globally (e.g. farmers or producers of raw materials, distributors, producers of end products, retailers) to complete a ~20 minute survey to gain understanding on current biodiversity commitments, use and understanding of available corporate biodiversity measurement approaches and the intended application of the data acquired from tool use.

To answer these questions and inform future support activities, a large SMEs & Nature Survey was launched by the EU Business @ Biodiversity Platform, the Capitals Coalition, We Value Nature and the Enterprise Europe Network. The survey primarily targets SMEs, but it is also open to other stakeholders including business associations, NGOs and international organisations representing or engaging with SMEs. Have your say and make sure the voice of SMEs is being heard!

Review of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive: online public consultation and webinar

The services of the European Commission have launched an online public consultation on the changes of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) to require large companies to include sustainability information in their annual public reporting. A webinar is organised on 11 May to take stock of the current NFRD review and reflect upon how its reform could enhance transparency and access to consistent non-financial information from companies.

Business for Nature: Consultation Survey open until 30 November

Business for Nature has launched a business consultation survey that will run until November 30. The survey gives businesses of all sectors, sizes and geographies the chance to contribute their experience and expertise to the policy recommendations that Business for Nature will take to governments at key events in 2020, creating a strong united business voice calling for policies to address the nature crisis. Contributions from other stakeholders are welcome as well. All businesses and interested stakeholders can take part here.

 
Private Finance Interest in Natural Capital

Environmental Finance in partnership with The Nature Conservancy is conducting an online survey on the interest among private financial institutions for investments in natural capital, conservation and natural infrastructure. The survey results will be used in a report on private financial institutions’ interest in financing natural capital that will be released at the Natural Capital Investment conference on 25 November 2019. The online survey is anonymous and should not take more than 5 minutes.
