The face of change: new Commission intranet to be launched on 14 June

With the current version of MyIntraComm created nearly 15 years ago, an upgrade has been on the cards for some time now. By 14 June, the Commission’s intranet will get a fresh new face and a host of improvements. The most striking change will be the look and feel, with more eye-catching photos and graphics, a sleeker page structure, and a friendlier interface that better suits the various devices staff uses today.

 
EAs Respect & Dignity @ Work campaign wins Commission Diversity and Inclusion Award

The Inter-Executive Agency’s (IEA) internal communication network, which includes CINEA’s internal communication team, has received the Commission’s Diversity and Inclusion Award for the “2023 Respect & Dignity @ Work Week” campaign. This recognition, under the ‘Outstanding Internal Initiative of the Year’ category, highlights the six EAs’ dedication to fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity and dignity within the workplace.

Velomai comes to an end – do not forget to register your rides

One ride can make the difference - do not forget to register your last rides in the tool! As usual, a closing ceremony (4 June) will take place to celebrate the Agency’s winners and cycling aficionados! Many thanks to our CINEA Cycling Group for organising all Vélomai events this year! If you are still hesitant to come to the office on two wheels, get inspired by our Director, who rode to the office by bike for the first time last week.

 
CINEA achieves a top performance in the annual EMAS exercise

CINEA has achieved a perfect score in this year's EMAS network's annual sustainability benchmarking exercise, thanks to the efforts of the CINEA Green Team. This remarkable accomplishment marks the first time that CINEA has reached the highest possible rating. Overall, 36 out of 47 EMAS teams had a performance above average (with a score of at least 6 out of 10), representing 85% of the total Commission population (compared to 74.5% in 2022).

 
LIFE: Celebrating a win-win for nature, circular economy and climate

Restoring iconic rivers, producing animal feed from waste insect protein and planting trees to cool cities were topics featured among the successful LIFE projects honoured at the annual LIFE Awards this week. The award winners were selected from many LIFE projects across the EU supporting the European Green Deal which have been completed within the last year. They mark outstanding achievements in three categories: nature, circular economy and quality of life as well as climate action.

On April 4 2024, the Maltese WestMED National Hub, met with the International Ocean Institute (IOI). Since its foundation in 1972 the IOI has grown into a world leading independent, non-governmental non-profit organisation conducting training and capacity building in Ocean Governance with the aim of creating knowledgeable future leaders. The scope of the meeting was to explore areas of collaboration between the WestMED and IOI. Especially because ‘improved maritime governance’ is one of WestMED’s leading goals.
