Last week the results of the 2022 LIFE call and the EU Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism (RENEWFM) first call were announced. EUR 396 million in funding has been awarded to 171 new LIFE projects across Europe, mobilising a total investment of more than EUR 722 million. Also, following the successful conclusion of the first RENEWFM call, 8 solar PV projects with a total capacity of 282.77 MW have been awarded funding.
This week Milan Linate and Malpensa airports held the kick-off event of the eMAGO project at the European Parliament. This project, with a #CEFTransport support of EUR 4.4 million, aims at decarbonising the two airports' operations by installing electrified charging units to supply power to the aircraft as well as several electrical charging stations for greening the airports ground handling operations.
A joint mission CINEA/DG MOVE took place on 16-17 November in Romania with the aim of reviewing most of CEF1 and CEF2 rail and road projects in Romania. Colleagues visited among others the 21-RO-TC-Giurgiu Bridge project focusing on the rail rehabilitation works between Vidra and Comana and in particular 4 bridges, including a construction of a 136-meter-long bridge over the Arges river.
The call for European Sustainable Energy Awards call is open. The Awards aim to highlight individuals, projects and initiatives that are contributing to Europe’s clean energy transition. The three Awards categories recognise ground-breaking projects, local energy initiatives and women who are having an outstanding impact on Europe’s transition to renewables and greater energy efficiency. The call is open to EU-funded projects, researchers, start-uppers, policymakers, campaigners, and industry experts. The CINEA Staff Charter Staff Assembly will take place on Monday 27 November from 14:30 to 16:00, in a hybrid format, both in meeting room W910 - 00/41 and via TEAMS. The meeting will be dedicated to presenting the revised Charter following the conclusion of the staff consultation process.
