Interested in becoming a confidential counsellor?

CINEA, EACEA, EISMEA and HaDEA launched a call for expression of interest among staff to select up to three Confidential Counsellors for each Agency. Confidential Counsellors receive, listen, inform, help and support staff members who are looking for assistance in problematic situations or conflicts. Do you see yourself in this role? All you have to do is apply by 30 April.

 
Nurturing a healthy workplace

The six Executive Agencies announced this week the joint launch of a comprehensive guide aimed at preventing psychosocial risks in the workplace. The EAs have collaboratively developed a guide tailored for both managers and staff to effectively navigate and mitigate these risks.

2024 LIFE Calls for proposals: bring your green dream to life with a share of EUR 571 million in funding!

The 2024 LIFE Calls for Proposals were announced yesterday, and are open for proposals on conserving nature, protecting the environment, taking climate action and transitioning Europe to clean energy. As the EU’s flagship initiative for funding environmental and climate actions, the LIFE Programme turns ideas into reality – this year with EUR 571 million available to share among successful project proposals!

 
CINEA well represented at TRA this week

The Transport Research Arena (TRA) is the largest transport and mobility research and innovation conference in Europe. #TRA2024 took place in Dublin from 15 to 18 April. CINEA’s Director was a keynote speaker in two sessions and CINEA co-organised four Special Sessions as well as jointly managing the EC stand with other services. The stand welcomed high-level visits including of the Irish Minister of Transport and DG MOVE’s DG Magda Kopczynska.

 
Feedback opportunity for Horizon Europe work programme 2025 now open!

The Commission has just launched a feedback opportunity for the 2025 Horizon Europe work programme. The feedback is being collected at the level of the ‘Destinations’ or Missions and the Commission has provided an orientation document for each, outlining the impacts and outcomes expected from the actions to be funded in 2025. Responses submitted through the public survey will contribute to the co-design of the ‘main’ 2025 work programme. This possibility to #EUHaveYourSay will close on 6 May 2024 midday, CET.

 
Innovation Fund: new large-scale projects meet at Cleantech Conference

Representatives of the 49 projects selected under the 2022 Innovation Fund call met on 11 April 2024 in Brussels at the Innovation Fund Cleantech Conference. These highly innovative projects were allocated over EUR 3.4 billion in funding following the third large scale call under the Innovation Fund, one of the world’s largest funding programmes for the demonstration of innovative low and zero-carbon technologies.

Preparing for Schuman Trophy (18-20 May)

The CINEA football team won its first match against REA 7-2 on Friday 12 April. The game was played in good spirits, with excellent tactical movements from the CINEA team. The team will participate in the 26th edition of the Schuman Trophy on 18-20 May 2024 in Rosières. They are looking for 1-2 extra players, but especially for a goalkeeper. If you wish to join the team contact Elisa Vargas Amelin (C1) and/or Leonidas SIOZOS-ROUSOULIS (C3) by Thursday 25 April at the very latest.

CINEA’s parent DGs, DG COMM and the Spokesperson’s Service are responsible for contacts with the media. The moment you are contacted by a journalist, please inform your Head of Unit and the Communication Team. For more details check the CINEA guidelines for media requests as well as the applicable approval workflows.

 
New update of CINEA website

Earlier this month as part of an action by the EC central services, CINEA’s website was updated to make the content more user-friendly and the structure better aligned with the overall EUROPA website. This update is part of the Commission efforts to improve its online presence.

Green mobility in Nantes receives boost thanks to the Public Sector Loan Facility (PSLF)

The SMILES project has officially started, with the objective of supporting improvements in the transport infrastructure of the French city of Nantes. The EUR 30 million grant complements a loan of EUR 200 million awarded by the European Investment Bank (EIB). Another PSLF grant agreement was also signed in April - the Sustainable and Affordable Housing“ for the New Green Industry and Society (SHERIS)” project. It will build around 750 sustainable and affordable housing units in the Skellefteå municipality (Sweden).
