eDelivery Technical Updates Roadmap for October and beyond

Secure digital data exchange is becoming ever easier thanks to the constant upgrade of the eDelivery service provision. eDelivery’s roadmap for 2022-2023 includes several major updates that keep abreast of the latest technology trends: new versions of SML, Domibus and SMP are scheduled for Q4 2022, Q1 2023 and Q2 2023, respectively.

Domibus 5.0.1

We are happy to announce that Domibus 5.0.1, the first patch for Domibus 5.0, was released. Domibus is the sample implementation of an eDelivery Access Point maintained by the European Commission. As this patch addresses a number of issues, users who have not yet installed Domibus 5.0 are encouraged to directly install this new version, especially as it corrects a bug detected in the 4.2-to-5.0 database migration scripts provided with the original Domibus 5.0 release.

SML 4.2 RC1

The first release candidate of SML 4.2 has been made available by the eDelivery team in September 2022. SML is the sample implementation of an eDelivery Service Metadata Locator (SML) for an eDelivery party to discover the URLs of other counterparties using eDelivery Access Points and their corresponding metadata. The final version of SML 4.2, addressing all issues reported by users who tested the release candidate, is being released on 14 October 2022.

The eDelivery Conformance Testing service is being upgraded

The eDelivery team is busy preparing the next generation of its conformance testing service, which is based on the Interoperability Test Bed. The new service will have a faster feedback loop for running the conformance tests, a more user-friendly interface and allow users to carry out the tests more independently.

Data sharing through eDelivery in HealthData@EU

With the growing importance of data sharing in the health sector, the EU is advancing with its initiatives to support the primary and secondary use of health data. HealthData@EU is setting out to create a European Health Data Space for cross-border data sharing with eDelivery at its core. The HealthData@EU will take full advantage of the eDelivery Building Block services and reference implementations.

eDelivery updates: webinars and events of this summer

In July and September 2022 webinars the eDelivery team welcomed technical representatives of policy projects interested in sending AS4 messages with Domibus. In September 2022, the Informal Cooperation Network for eDelivery (ICN) was relaunched, where experiences about the implementation of eDelivery at the national or regional level were shared and possible funding opportunities were discussed.
